hiatus
We're currently vacationed at my mom and step dad's home in Tampa, Florida and let me tell you... it has been a freaking splendid time thus far. First there is the weather, which has been no less than 75 degrees and sunny everyday since Saturday. Then there is the relaxation. We've been catching up on reading and baby name books and have slept no less than 9 hours per night.
Despite the fact that I am currently out of work, I can't seem to relax at home. I always feel pressure to job hunt, clean, cook, do-babyish-things, or what not. I can't ever seem to just chill. Down here, however... its been nothing but chill.
Saturday we ventured to Sea World to visit Shamu and all his buds. I figured this would be a good park because a) I haven't been in almost 20 years and b) it has very few "rides" which are a total no-no for a pregnant chick. Honestly, I must say that I was VERY impressed. I've always been a huge fan of marine life and for a long time, I thought I wanted to be a marine biologist "when I grew up". (That quickly faded when I entered the science program at URI, my alma mater). Anyway, something about marine life fascinates me and I was SUPER entertained at Sea World. (Though, I do have this humane bone that pricked at my heart a few times that day when I wondered how "healthy" the Sea World lifestyle is for the animals.) The shows were really cool and it was just an all around great day.
Aside from that adventure, we've been spending most of our time hanging on the lanai and going for walks. Being in a warm climate is SO refreshing. I'm so inspired to be active and just enjoy the environment. It sort of sucks that I cannot run due to my little placenta previa issue but I've been making due with visits to the local YMCA and daily walks with the hub (who HAS been running everyday and is loving every minute of it).
In baby news, I am finally feeling her wiggle around down there. It hasn't been anything major but I am feeling the ocassional kick here and there. We are in the midst of the name game and are accepting all suggestions so feel free to throw your favorites in the comments. However, we will not be sharing her chosen name until her birth. I know a lot of people think that is "no fun" but we figure sharing the sex was exciting enough and we have to leave some element of surprise for the birth! :)
I've got to help my mom now... we're preparing for our beach day tomorrow. Life is tough, I know!

I wanted to be a marine biologist too UNTIL I got to 10th grade biology and realized I hated science! HAHA!
Then, I thought aeronautical engineering sounded cool UNTIL 12th grade AP Physics...hated that too!
Enjoy Shamu and Florida weather.
P.S. I love the little baby on the sidebar!
Glad you're enjoying your vacay!
Glad you are able to relax and chill out. I agree don't give away any names. People have too many opinions they will share about the name you pick.
I think it's smart to keep your name a secret, that way nobody can tell you "oh my cousin's dog was named X" and the like.
So exciting that you're feeling her move! Enjoy the rest of your vacation.
How about Jill. Jake & Jill - Ha! Totally Kidding.
Keep enjoying that vaca and the warm sun!
